Krishna clapping his hands

Azvar  putting  himself in the place of Yasodha asks Krishna to clap his hands.

“Clap your hands  which received the three feet of earth from Mahabali, with the rubies inside your girdle sounding and your pearl like teeth shining inside your coral lips.

Get down from my lap and with jewel on your forehead moving go to the lap of your father and clap your hands.”

Here the idea is to enjoy the clapping of Krishna in front and hence asks him to go to his father.

Yasodha further calls him to come back to her and do the clapping from her hips, calling the moon.

Azvar refers  Krishna as Padmanabha, the one who had lotus in his navel on which Brahma was seated and in his role as Yasodha, describes how Krishna after playing in the mud comes back and smears it all over her when she fondles him and how he roams around like a  calf after eating the butter and curd in the pots surreptitiously.

Then Azvar lapses back into his own and describes Krishna as Parthasarathy, Rama, Nrsimah and the one who assisted the devas in amrthamaThana.

“Clap your hands with which,

you led the chariot of Arjuna, when the kouravas dd not listen to you who is the father of all and fought with the Pandavas,.

You agitated the ocean, as Rama, when Varuna did not listen to your plea to  make way and later bridges the sea and destroyed the rakshasas,

You  broke open the chest of Hiranyakasipu when he struck the pillar, and,

You churned the milky ocean along with the devas with manthara mountain as the churning rod and Vasuki as the rope.

To those who say these verses will be rid of their sin.
